4.0 out of 5 stars Good kit - but is is large, 15 Sep 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Jamie Oliver By Tefal CY400015 Multi Cook, Silver (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Kitchen & Home)
I remember my mum using an old fashioned one of these and being really scared that it would blow up.

Having used this to brown the meat and then make a beef goulash - it was easy to use, great to wash-up and not at all scary.

I have marked this a four for two reasons.

1) The recipe book has some nice ideas but not convinced that they are designed for the 'family' in mind - can't imagine my child eating much but they give you an understanding on timings.

2) It is a big bit of kit. Haven't found a cupboard big enough to put it in!

Nice product to use and simple.

I am trying to decide whether to buy this or the Morphy Richards equivalent and the customer reviews for both appear similar in terms of performance. There is no mention if a trivet is included as there is with the Morphy Richards and as i have no experience of pressure cooking, wonder if it is useful to have one.

I'm fairly sure it doesn't have a trivet. It does come with a steam basket for vegetables, etc. Not sure which one you should go for. I am really pleased with the Jamie Oliver one though and Lakeland only sell Jamie Oliver's version (at the moment) and they usually know their stuff. Good luck.

Perhaps there's a reason for the large size. When I put cooking appliances in a cupboard, they seldom see the outside world again, as my Magimix, Gaggia and Tefal steamer can confirm.
