It worked for me!,
This review is from: Horse and Rider Fitness: The Essential Guide for All Riders (Hardcover)A very sedentary office worker I was panicking about my ability to ride long days in the saddle on a riding holiday and was given this book 3 months beforehand. I forced myself into a brief, daily exercise programme, which it is easy and convenient to tailor-make using suggestions in this book.
There are photos which are easy to work from and I found the movements gentle and more of a stretching exercise than a horrible rigorous sweaty experience!
The ride was certainly very demanding being 30k on the first day, and 20k on the last, the last 3k of which was a fast race home across the pampas. All I can say is, I wasn't last in! Yes, I had aches and pains most nights; but I was fit enough to keep riding every day and thoroughly enjoy the whole experience. Without the tips in this book I doubt I would have been able to say that.
