Don't waste your time reading this book,
This review is from: Practising the Power of Now (Paperback)
I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend, but I would not recommend it as a 'self help' book. Some bits may be of help, but mainly a load of old codswallop. I worry that people actually believe this stuff. Get a grip!

I so love the fact that we as humans have such wildly differing opinions... I tend to trust the 14x 5 star and 3x 4 star v this one 1 star review... and know that where I am in my life means I am receptive to what E Tolle has to says, and can honestly report it has changed my life.... but who knows what I would have made of it a few years back... codswallop it aint..... I am reading A new Earth; - fantastic..... and I can see why it wont resonate with all.... and I feel sad for them!

"...I tend to trust the 14x 5 star and 3x 4 star v this one 1 star review..." in the same way a huge swathe of receptive people were taken in by 'the celestine prophecy' 10+ years ago (until they realised the same energy/consciousness tricks were being employed), or in a more sinister way peter popoff or scientology. only, this time, it has massive corporate backing. scary. it's no surprise that at mr tolle's site the top 5 FAQs are all about product orders and delivery. i guess people unwittingly use confirmation bias even more strongly than initially thought and also misunderstand what is happening during meditation. a course in critical thinking and a copy of dr.carl sagan's baloney detection kit should be given out in every school. what makes you happy and what's true 'ain't necessarily the same thing. oh well. each to their own.

It would have been interesting to have read a well-thought out response from someone who disliked the book or strongly disagreed with it's message. But all this review comes out with is low key abuse. Why did you even bother?
