This review is from: TP-Link TL-PA251KIT AV200+ Multi-Streaming Powerline Starter Kit with AC Pass Through (UK Plug Only) (Accessory)
Been using these since December 2012 (along with a third 'regular' TP-Link adapter that was free in a promotion) and they've been working together perfectly. No set-up required at all for me; just plugged them in, connected my devices, switched them on and all three adapters found each other instantly and were communicating. No pairing, no additional set-up.
The provided software was quite flaky and didn't work properly for me, although a different version available on the website did. That being said, the software is by no means a requirement to use the adapters and won't be useful to most users so I suggest not bothering with it unless you need to for troubleshooting or monitoring sync speeds between adapters.
I also use one of mine with a TP-Link 5-port switch linked below, to extend network/internet access to my TV, Sky HD box and games consoles. Again, the adapters do a superb job and the router simply assigns the additional items IP addresses of its own accord; no need to use multiple powerline adapters if your items are close-by. Just connect everything to the switch, connect the switch to the powerline adapter, and you're connected.

It is however a shame there's such a premium for the pass-through models; regular models can often be found for close to £20, but having use of the socket is useful.
