It Works And Is Fair Value,

This review is from: Am-Tech Ratchet Tree Saw Lopper with Ali Telescopic Bar (Garden & Outdoors)
Mine was supplied minus the telescopic pole, so imagine my delight. Long story short; Amazon's carriers twice failed to collect the return parcel and I was refunded the payment but kept the incomplete tool. That was all a logistics failure and has not affected my rating of the product.
I happened to have a wooden pole slightly taller than myself that I believe was once the handle of a rake. It was too thick to fit the 22mm socket of the tool heads so I sanded one end down, drilled it to take the securing bolt, and then had a complete tool. Because the electricity supply to my rural home is above ground a wooden pole is also safer for me.
No doubt my wooden pole is heavier than the aluminium one I never got to see, and with the lopper attached I find it difficult to hold up to branch height, but I can't claim to be the strongest pensioner in the valley and using it will probably become easier with time as I become accustomed to it. It would help to have three arms, ie two to hold the pole and one to pull the cord, but the method given on the packaging card does work. Hook the upper blade over the target branch, close the lower blade with a pull of the cord, and then give a second pull to cut. So far I've only tried it on a few branches and have not experienced any problems other than me being a weakling.
The saw blade is good and sharp, and zips through chunky branches. I've not used it with my homebrew pole because it's a one-handed tool I'm prepared to use from a ladder.
I would say that this Am-Tech product is fair value, and I recommend it.
