Disappointing compared to first series.,
This review is from: Counter-Measures: Series Two (Audio CD)
I managed to get the first series and greatly enjoyed it and so was looking forward to hearing this too, but was so disaapointed as it does not live up to how good the first series was.
Nothing wrong with the characters, the four leading actors are excellent in their portrayal of the characters but I just did not enjoy the four stories here, whereas the first series had four excellent stories, really engaging, especially the Pelage Project story and the first story in the set, whose title sadly escapes me at present. I have and still do listen the first series over and over again and do not tire of it, but even after persevering with this second series and giving it a few listens, I have now put it away and I doubt it will see the light of day in a hurry.
I look forward to series three and dearly hope it will be better than this, which appeared to be going for gross-out factor in parts instead of relying on a really good and interesting story. Totally fed up with the story arc involving the super soldier type female character, and wish they would concentrate more on mysterious stories instead of relying on revolting subject matter which they seem to think everyone would like, Please go back to the brilliance of the first series for any subsequent series or I for one will lose interest, and that would be a shame as the characters are very interesting in their own right, especially Toby Kinsella.
