This review is from: ALL THAT GLITTERS (HEARTS OF GOLD) (Kindle Edition)
All that Glitters is the fourth book in the wonderful Hearts of Gold series - although it could easily be enjoyed read on its own.
It is set in 1939, and captures some of the thirst for happiness in a country on the brink of war. There are thoroughly engrossing stories of family, friendship, romance, deceit and manipulation, and the joys of freedom and life...
There is the heartwarming story of Jane Jones (a character new to the series), who having spent all her life in an institution, escapes the workhouse and attempts to build a new life for herself.
Also there is the colourful story of Haydn Powell, who has returned to his home town of Pontypridd for the summer season, to star in the controversial Revue at the Town Hall.
And, the dramatic story of Eddie (Haydn's brother) and Jenny (Haydn's childhood sweetheart), and a dangerous love triangle...
All that Glitters is a fantastic read ... an enchanting story with a vibrant backdrop ... it is my personal favourite in the Hearts of Gold series and I can't recommended it highly enough
The previous three books in the series are:
Hearts of Gold
ONE BLUE MOON (HEARTS OF GOLD (PONTYPRIDD SERIES))
A SILVER LINING (HEARTS OF GOLD)
The next book in the series is:
SUCH SWEET SORROW (HEARTS OF GOLD)
