This review is from: London: A Short History (Universal History) (Hardcover)
Easily-despite its' modest size- the most informative and entertaining book I have read about London. Wilson writes authoritively about architecture and people, linking the Citys' development to political and economic initiatives over the centuries. Clearly passionate about his subject, particularly when dealing with the post WW2 era, he writes with zeal, great humanity and humour. You will regret reaching the end, but have new places in mind to explore next time you're "in Town".
