Having read some of the reviews of this album I didn't know quite what to expect. Whilst lyrically, from what i can discern, ( what no lyric sheet on a Sparks album ? ) it doesn't match some of Ron's most inventive, and therefore funny efforts. It is however a punchy album musically with a lot of very techo balls. I've been playing it constantly since it plopped onto my door matt, so can it be that bad. I'm growing to appreciate some of the later tracks such as 'Irreplacable' and 'Angels'. But initially I felt the album started off at such a romp with 'Balls' and 'More than a Sex Machine',peaking at 'Bullet Train'that musical interest appeared to fade out. On repeated listenings I would say its largely a result of the way the songs are programmed. It gives the aural impression at least of an album in two halves.
On reflection this is a good album, though little on it quite prepares you for the volt shift that was Lil'Beethoven.
