5.0 out of 5 stars A House Must-Have, 27 May 2003
This review is from: Fantazia House Collection 3 (Audio CD)
This is in my top three house compilations of all time, without doubt. Fantazia was a highly reputable label in the early to middle 1990s and managed to pull in Jeremy Healy and Alister Whitehead, stars of the time, to mix this compilation.
Healy's set contains some mainstream classics from the time, including Livin' Joy's 'Dreamer', and yet some rare 'bootleg' mixes. The final song of his set, 'Hallelujah', recorded live in Manchester, has possibly the greatest breakdown in the history of house music. I have not found it on any other compilation and so it is worth buying for this track alone.
Whitehead's set is equally as good, with more classics like 'Sweetest Day of May'.
In general, there is a lot of piano, excellent vocal sections, a strong beat and some rare tracks that make this a must-buy.
