Recognisably 80s But Timeless,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Best Of A Flock Of Seagulls (Audio CD)
I've discovered AFOS's music in the last year or two after hearing the classic I Ran on the radio and not being able to believe that it was not a hit in Britain.
It's a shame that 'that' haircut will always overshadow the band because there is a fine melodic sense at work here aswell as a typical British early 80s Electro-Pop melancholic depth allied to a crisp no-nonsense guitar sound that still sounds fresh and arresting all these years later. It's worth buying for I Ran alone but every track, with the exception of Who's That Girl,is enough to convince me that there was much more to this band than image.

More image than depth or talent is the boring old line trounced out by ageing failed muscicians masquerading as journalists! Hello, everything is image today to sell crap but no one says it. Girls Aloud/Knowles/Boyzone/Oasis/Twitberlake/W
