This review is from: Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth (Paperback)
This is the first book about Apollo that makes a real attempt to set one of mankind's greatest achievements into wider context.
I found Andrew Smith's style engaging, he reaches out beyond the usual space geeks (like me...). He asks important questions about why we went to the moon and the costly effect it has had on many of those teriffic men who achieved it.
It does stand alone as a look at Apollo, but it could be read in conjunction with Andrew Chaikin's excellent 'A Man on the Moon', for those who wish for a more factual guide to the Moon landings.
