Reacher is growing up ...,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Never Go Back (Jack Reacher 18) (Hardcover)
I started buying the Reacher books when the first one (Killing Floor) was published, and have read every one of them along the way.
they have always been great fun to read, and my only real complaint has been that there aren't enough of them!
Never go back is a bit different though, I think, and an improvement on what has come before. It's hard to describe how exactly, as all the elements that you would expect are there - the pace of the action, the amount of action, the love interest etc, but this one seemed to be a slight departure from the usual formula in that it felt like more of a thriller with action in it, rather than an action book with some suspense in the plot.
No spoilers here, but Reacher seems to be evolving along with Lee's style, and the outcomes of various situations in the book are surprising and work well with the tightly plotted storyline.
In summary - a great read, well worth the bargain price of £9 that I pre ordered it for, just wish it had been 800 pages long rather than 413!!
