This review is from: Je t'aime à la Folie (Hardcover)
As others have said, this was a disappointing second book. For about half of the book it seemed as if MW had little new material; far too much yearning for a partner and too much flying experiences for my liking. It also lacked the humour of the first book and i felt the author to be rather two-dimensional. A lot was said about MW's doubts about how Alice would cope with life in rural France, but after she had arrived, he gave us little idea about how she felt and filled her time. So many books have been written by ex-pats buying and living in France - the main appeal for this book was the fact that I live near to La Folie - and this is definately not one of the best.
