Energenie okay but unreliable,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Energenie Power Meter (DIY & Tools)
My video is of the Energy Meter that is received if you purchase the Energenie Power Meter.
For nine pounds it's not bad. The screen is clear to read. You can not move the decimal point for Cost. The cost for kwh is given in pounds and not pence as your electricity bill will read. My latest price is 13.06p but I can only set the meter to 13p. Not a big difference but one to be noted nonetheless.
You can not reset after finding out the cost of use of an item. That small fridge had 5p on the meter before it started. After four days it read 17p. So now I know its roughly 3p a day. That is in summer of course. My upright fridge/freezer costs 13p per day!
Top marks to Amazon for refunding the cost of replacing batteries when I informed them that the product arrived flat.
14 October: returned item, got full refund. When left for a week or two the unit failed to recognise any appliance plugged into it. If you are going to try one, get it working, go around all your appliances and note how much power in Watts (W) it is using in all states.
