Okay but not great,
This review is from: This Is England '88 [DVD] (DVD)
Much better IMO than TIE 86 but still only 3 stars for me.
Apart from Woody and Lol there is little in the way of character development.
Plus why is a song from 1984 used along with clips from 1988??
Has Lol got any other clothes apart from a dirty crombie from 1982?
To say so much emphasis is on the 88, so little about the fashion from 88 is right, Meadows seems to think I'll have a punk, a mod, a goth, a bit of a psycobilly, a skin/rude girl, yawn yawn yawn. If you are going to make a program relevant to a specific year at least do a bit of research and make an effort.

Mr. E. A. Dobson says:
I won't be watching this. I did watch 86, a friend of mine claimed it was the best TV in years! But how can you take a show seriously when one minute its a comedy verging on slapstick and the next its very heavy drama with an extremely disturbing rape scene! The film on the other hand was very good but the ending was a cop out.
