Comforting but not a classic.,

If you were slightly worried that Enigma might be exploring new unchartered territory...fear not. The intro is a re-arrangement of the two previous albums' opening tracks (I guess that links the Trilogy together?!) and provides comforting familiarity. All the hallmarks are there, from medieval chants, synth sweeps, Eastern twinges and of course, the French accented Earth Goddess sprouting nonsense (which I actually really like and find quite soothing). The spoiler for me is the overuse of the main guy referred to as 'horse-throat man'. Despite his obvious sincerity, this brings a field of corn to the proceedings. You can almost see him punch his fist in the air - "I'M ASKING WHY!" Alright calm down mate, I'm trying to chill out! The packaging is suberb, with acetate sleeve notes depicting industrial/human mechanics (You can even smell the grime!). Personally, if I had to choose one Enigma CD it would be the original, fresh and sensuous MCMXCad. However, this one would not be out of place in any decent CD collection.
Horse-man, un point. Earth Goddess, douze point.
