This review is from: Reunited in Death (Pitkirtly Mysteries Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
You don't have to have read Crime in the Community to appreciate this book. Although they are in a series the books are independent and fully complete in their own rights. However, if you have already read the previous book, you will know more about the characters and how they interact.

Things have moved on in Pitkirtly since the first novel. Amaryllis returns from her holiday to find that Jemima Stevenson has arranged an event for the small town. The Cultural Centre is hosting a homecoming event where people from all over the world can meet long lost relatives and study more of their family history. But this is Pitkirtly, and things don't go according to plan. With the head of the centre found dead in the Forth, a person found dead at the event, things are starting to hot up. When a dead body turns up at Jemima's house, and this person being on her family tree, as well as the dead person in the centre, could Jemima herself be in danger?

Amaryllis, along with Christopher and the other members of the 'gang' start to investigate for themselves. At the same time there are seen Tibetan children roaming Pitkirtly, and the assistant librarian has started to go off her rocker.

Although not a particularly hard mystery to solve, like the first book there is a certain quirkiness here, and the regular characters are as wonderful as before. There is a lot of gentle humour here and this is a good book to settle down with and lose yourself in.
