Spoiled by the remorseless chatter,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Joanna Lumley in the Land of the Northern Lights [DVD] (DVD)
The photography is simply glorious. It is point of the whole exercise and it is first class.
The one thing that rather spoils it is that Ms Lumley just never shuts up. There is long sequence at the end where she is enjoying the lights, totally in awe, but she never stops talking. It is a sort extended "How do I feel now" monologue. Quite frankly it cast her in a new light for me, especially as the incessant chatter is in places quite empty headed. For example, the explanation from an Academic of why the northern lights exist (a simple and lucid explanation I thought) was cut short with a sort of "girls don't understand particle physics" from Lumley. OK, but it was not particle physics and not everybody is quite so ignorant of the basic laws of magnetism.
I am not sure if that is Lumley's fault, or the Producer's, but someone got it wrong.
