KOAR looks very much like a cross between Fable and Skyrim, and looks very good! The locations are all well rendered and they were smart enough to add distance to the views to give it real scale. The game itself is huge, absolutely massive - add some DLC and massive becomes.....massiver....have a crack at all the little side missions and quests and you will be playing for 100 hours or more. The crafting is so much less fiddly and time consuming than Skyrim, and the combat simpler - which is also a downpoint as being in third person reduces the immersion. Being sneak attacked by the beasties (some of them very powerful indeed) that populate Amalur, which will happen on a regular basis is less of a threat and more of an irritation.
The one point that kills this game for me, and has killed this game, is the XP cap at level 40. I've added both DLC missions and am perhaps two thirds of the way through, my skill levels are satisfactory and could be bumped up a notch or two more by training, but there are so many open untested abilities that I cannot access as I've hit the cap it (for me) makes playing the rest of the game redundant, and of course removes the re-playability.
KOAR is a great way to kill a lot of time, not difficult, not scary, not caring, just playable - until the cap kicks you in the armoured pants with a deafening clang.
