Doesn't live up to the hype of the introduction by Rachel Johnson,

This review is from: The Diary of a Provincial Lady (Penguin Modern Classics) (Paperback)
I was disappointed with this book, which was my book club choice. It is divided into four sections- the first was mildly amusing, but it got steadily more tedious. By the last book it felt like the author was writing just to fill space. Too much meaningless detail of every situation. She would write15 pages on one shift at a canteen when nothing happened, hardly representative of a diary entry!
