An Italian dictionary for my Kindle - excellent, I thought. Then I found you need to buy two because each one goes in one direction only.
The main trouble though is that a lot of words you'd expect aren't there, and when there are alternative Italian words given you don't always get a guide as to the difference in meaning between them. So overall, this is very basic.
Unfortunately, it has few competitors. If you want Italian to English then An Electronic Italian Dictionary (Electronic Dictionaries) is good. But for English to Italian ENGLISH-ITALIAN Dictionary With Transcriptions isn't very efficient, nor that comprehensive (it's intended for Italian speakers to look up occasional English words).
There are plenty of adequate Italian phrase books and language guides on Kindle, but as yet not a dictionary, and you're still better of taking a copy of the Collins Gem Collins Gem Italian Dictionary, the Oxford Mini Oxford Italian Mini Dictionary or (if you can find one) Langenscheidt pocket Italian Langenscheidt Pocket Dictionary (Langenscheidt Dictionaries). Let's hope that one of those gets kindle-ised soon.
