High quality, but expensive blades,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Bahco Laplander Folding Saw (396LAP - Frustration Free Packaging) (Garden & Outdoors)
For a lightweight saw, especially for camping or working round a large estate this saw delivers. It's never going to be as easy as a bowsaw and you shouldnt buy this for use at home, but for any time where you must carry your tools any distance then this is worth considering.
Have cut tree branches up to about 12cm with this - it's possible but hard work, Smaller ones are easy to cut through. The blade manages well, and has a coating to reduce sticking that appears to work to some extent.
It feels very light, but is actually quite strong. Nice positive open and close lock on the handle.
The only downside is the unbelivable cost of the blades - they are approaching the price of the whole saw (about £1.50 less). This is quite ridiculous and as such I have to mark the score down - for a blade for this to cost twice what a *pack* of quality bowsaw blades does is not especially appealing. Bear this in mind when buying.

Good review but I disagree that it's not suitable for use at home. I've been finding it invaluable for doing some hedge-laying work around my home as you can cut through small branches and trunks from inside a cluster of stems or other branches where you'd never be able to access with a bow saw. I hadn't appreciated the cost of replacement blades but mines standing up well to use so far.
