Great historical fiction,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Caesar's Women (Hardcover)
Colleen McCullough seems to pre-date the Cornwell / Iggulden wave of swords/sandals historical fiction, and this book is long and more densely plotted - the emphasis more on influence and human nature than legionnaire privations. But completely absorbing, particularly the characterisation of the principal character Sulla, a completely realised figure who attracts and frightens. Very enjoyable.
