This review is from: The God Delusion (Paperback)
For anyone with a less than sympathetic view of religion this book could be fairly described as (oh dear) a bible. A pretty straight forward rebuttal of the majority of religious doctrine in favour of a rational, humanist view of life, the universe and everything. Its greatest surprise perhaps is an almost complete lack of hysteria despite it's author's obvious distaste for the theocratic view point.
One of Dawkins greatest strengths seems to be his willingness to listen to and present as many other peoples arguments as he can. He will then analyse them and present his own views on the topics discussed. At the same time the reader is given enough space (and by the text - frequently invited) to use their own brain to question and analyse their own responses to the questions asked.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
