DONT UPGRADE FIRMWARE TO 1.011.2 !!!!!!,
This review is from: Samsung 7" High Resolution Digital Photo Frame (SPF-72H) (Electronics)
Excellent photo frame. Due to my fiddling intentions though - I looked up the latest firmware which promptly rendered it unusable. Off to samsung to be repaired at the moment.
While it worked -
The pictures were bright, colourful, and very sharp. It is very good resolution. The user interface could do with some work as it is not very intuitive, but for doing the job it was intended to do - it's great.
Especially like the automatic, timed on/off feature.
Very good frame .

While they should have been a LOT clearer, Samsung is not actually at fault here (technically at least).....as 1.011.2 is actually the wrong version firmware for this variation SPF-72H. You wanted version 1004.0 firmware which is for the SPF-72H sold in Europe (which has the model extension number 'LP07EESS' on the sticker on the box....which is the same model extension number mentioned in the file name for the 1004.0 firmware, which is how I spotted which version to download and use). It's a rather easy mistake to make, though, as I VERY nearly did the same thing. I'm just the sort of person who checks, double checks and checks again with this kind of thing....which is how I spotted the correct version at the very last second (I was about to try the version you did).
Also, I upgraded the firmware via Frame Manager on my PC, not via the memory card route. So now I have the latest firmware and everything is fine. Although I see no difference in operation, so I'd advise others to leave well alone if their frame is working OK as it is. Which is the golden rule when it comes to firmware for any device (if it aint broke, don't fix it)
