entertaing but at times factually incorrect,
This review is from: The Heirs Of The Prophet Muhammad: And the Roots of the Sunni-Shia Schism (Paperback)
I normally don't write reviews , but I bought this book and found it very entertaining and intresting.
It kind of read like a historical fiction book
The only place where I didn't like it was that the author has not bothered to check all his facts and has some complete falsehoods in it.
The main one being that the Imam Ali married his daughter to Caliph Omar , this is not true at all and is a case of 2 ppl with the exact same name that historians have got mixed up , Omar was married to an Umm Kutlthum ( same name as Ali's daughter) but not the same person .
Anyhow that said I did find some of the conquests of early Islam fascinating to read about and would reccommend this book for ppl to read.
