essential tool but not a bible,
This review is from: Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child: A step-by-step programme for a good night's sleep (Paperback)
Having used this book through 2 children and given it repeatedly to expectant friends, I find the information in the book fantastic as a GUIDE. Dr. W has devoted his practice to understanding sleep and this book provides this information for stressed out parents. It does not cure all ills and unfortunately, is not the same as a 1 to 1 with the doc. But as parents, the more we understand, the better we can help out children!
-Only book i've seen to explain sleep needs/trends/mechanics = invaluable!
-Loads of case studies which can be reassuring
-Clear procedures for addresses sleep issues
-long winded and poorly organized- read before the baby arrives!
-is not a doc addressing your child- at the end of the day, find what works for you!
This book saved us with our first cholicky child and didn't work at all with our second. But the second time around I understand my child's sleep needs and could work with her without crying it out!
All in all, still recommend it to everyone, even if only for educational purposes.
