Not worth buying.,
This review is from: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM)
Well, I saw all the trailers and really had some kind of "wow effect" even I was aware that they were rendered of course. But if the result was only half of the movie quality it would have been fantastic enough. This could have been the game I was waiting for. It seemed as if the best of BF2 has been combined with pure tactical elements. BF2 became a bit too arcade for me in the meantime because I'm more a careful player then a Rambo. So OPF2 was my new hope.
I preordered it, it came on time, I installed it, started the game, put everything on "high" and..."Huh? That's it?". The graphic is not bad but not even half of what I've exspected. Singleplayer? What? Only 11 mission??? Kidding??? Not to talk about the poor AI of the soldiers: One shot at them and they start to crawl up a hill!!! Nearly as easy as sitting ducks to hit. Use of vehicles and armor? Forget it. Mostly you're walking or you can take here and there a truck or jeep. A joke.
Multiplayer, the one I was excited about. Forget it. Not present. Bad pings, no dedicated servers even in the near future and just 2 maps. Hello? Codemasters, are you kidding? The worst multiplayer ever seen. Such a lousy online "experience" is not what you should exspect today.
Result: Codemasters, you have ruined a game with the highest potentials!!! People, save your money. I should have done also.
