Quite different - Is good..,
This review is from: Vicky Pattison's 7 Day Slim [DVD] (DVD)
Really impressed with this DVD.
I workout 6 days out of the 7, running 5-7 miles 3 to 4 days of the week.
My mum wants to lose weight and my Nell McAndrews and Jillian Michaels DVDs are a little too intense for her so we're starting off with the celebrity DVDs -
We've got Charlie Brooks, Nadia Sawalha and Claire Nasirs DVDs - She really enjoys these but gets bored easily so purchasing other celeb DVDs so we've got a DVD for each day of the week.
The idea is that the DVD is broken in to 6 workouts, each lasting 10 minutes.
You're supposed to do workout 1 for 7 days, then build up and include workout 2 and by week 6 should be doing the whole DVD.
I understand why there is a warm up at the beginning of each workout because you can pick 1 section only however, when you want to do 3, 4 or even all 6 sections it gets in the way a little!
I wish they had performed one warm up at the very beginning and one cool down at the end so you can do as many sections as you like without the interuption of the intensity level peaking.
There is Vicky and the trainer, I love how Vicky gets stuck in and does the harder option whilst the trainer shows you the alternative (less intense option) So you can build up.
Workout 1 it includes:
*"The Gorilla" (In plank position, bringing foot up in line with arm and alternate)
*Squat Jumps (or without the jump)
*Sprint on the Spot
Workout 2 includes:
*Walking Plank and Push up
*Side Squat Jumps (or without the jump)
*Spotty dogs with a lunge
*Pelvic Floors with leg in the air
Workout 3 includes:
*Punches (In Squat and Lunge position)
*"Sea Turtle" (Basically dorsal raises with a twist)
*Across the body mountain climbers
Workout 4 includes:
*Sit Ups with one leg in the air
*Plank with Knee in to chest
*Oblique twists on your toes
Workout 5 includes:
*Spotty dogs with lunge
*Plank with knee in to chest and across the body
Workout 6 includes:
*Plank with oblique twist
*Sprint on the spot
*Holding squats and lunges
Each section on this DVD works absolutely every muscle in the body, you will feel it the next day and it will burn fat and tone but you must stick to the eating plan on the DVD which is great by the way!
The most impressive DVD eating plan I've ever seen! It has some real tasty foods - You can even have steak & chips one evening!
I'd recommend this to anyone! It's really well thought out for those starting exercise - I know there are other DVDs which are made for those new to exercise, however some people struggle to do 25 minutes of just cardio and then half an hour of toning..
Whereas this DVD has 6 sections which cover every part of the body in just 10 minutes. It is very well thought out. 10 minutes is all some people can do and this is great, you will feel good about yourself and not feel like you've failed completeing a whole 20 - 30 minute cardio session which you need to build up to like made in other Celeb DVDs.
There are however, some rather poor teaching points throughout the DVD - especially as this workout has been made for those who are starting out like Vicky was in her before picture -
Those who are new to exercise need to be explained how to perform certain exercises to avoid injury such as a squat, you must keep your back straight, chest high, push the bum back, knees behind the toes. Please remember this when performing the squats and even the lunges.
He doesn't explain this so I'd like you all to remember that please!
Overall a Really good idea of a DVD workout though :) Buy buy buy guys!!
