My laptop started to overheat, and then freeze. Before this it had run reasonably well for a low-spec laptop, as long as you didn't have too many programs running at once etc. I've rea on pc forums/websites that HP used a particular metal for elements of this laptop and another in the same line (G60 I think) that 'melt' when the laptop overheats and this is what causes the apparently irreversible (at least without major fixing) freezing problem. I can now turn my laptop on, and use for around 10 mins, using one program at a time, and then it freezes and I have to force it to shut down again. Seeing as this is a fault with the design you'd think HP would be more helpful, but no. Mine lasted 7 months before this started. There are other budget laptops without this problem, go with those!
