Album of the Year,
This review is from: Mighty Rearranger (Audio CD)
I have only recently got into Led Zeppelin in the last few years, due to the fact that I was born during the Punk era of the late 70s, and by the time I was old enough to listen to music Led Zep were a thing of the past. However, in the past few years I have become a great fan of theirs, so I was interested to see the release of this record, never having heard any of Robert Plant's previous solo work.
I was totally blown away by what I heard. This is a GREAT album, one which I will still be listening to many years from now.My favourite track has to be 'All the King's Horses', a beautiful accoustic ballad. However, there is a great mixture of styles on this record - blues, eastern influences, folk and plenty of nods towards Led Zep as Robert's voice hits the high notes.
Listening to this record also makes it painfully apparent how pathetic the modern crop of singer songwriters are for the most part. Robbie Williams? What a joke.
This is a rare gem - make the most of it. You owe it to yourself.
