No, I didn't get an advance copy. I pre-ordered it from Amazon some considerable while ago. It was dispatched by them on Friday evening before the official release and arrived on my doormat on the Monday morning of the official release. My consideration was given after not one, but two full listens of the entire set over a couple of days after receiving it.
No, I have not heard Savall's Farnace - I did not buy it because of the negative reviews. I cited it in my review because he apparently has "previous" as far as crimes against Vivaldi go. Perhaps I should have taken it as a forewarning.
I reviewed this set both on its own merits and also against all the other Vivaldi opera releases in this Naive/Opus111 series excepting the aforementioned Farnace and also Tito Manlio, being the only two which I do not have.
