This trilogy is an admixture of sci-fi transport/time travel and Mount & Blade style battles. The pace is relentless but character development is thin and some of the imagery is just too repetitive. How many times can one push a horse to its limits but then still carry on? I finished it but only just. Will not be rereading it.
