A superb action adventure,
This review is from: Spiral (Paperback)
This really is a wonderful story, and some of the negative reviews here are way off the mark. Titchfield - why are you whining about Gemmell? Kade is based on Stevenson's Jekyll and Hyde! And Vorix completely missed the point about Kade absorbing Carter's pain, and therefore allowing the hero to stumble on in heroic agony ... Guys, learn to read yeah? And learn to apply your brains!
SPIRAL is a superb action adventure. It's fast paced, violent, and kicks you in the groin and drags you along with the sheer pace. And yet it also has a beautiful mix of emotions and its central message is beautifully interwoven. Characters are expertly drawn and Remic gets the military feel just right, with superb army-speak and use of those more esoteric parts of our lexicon. I can't wait for the second novel QUAKE - as featured on Remic's website [...] - so come on Remic, get the second book finished and give us all a treat!
