Zoey Redbird, im sold!,
This review is from: Marked: Number 1 in series: 1/6 (House of Night) (Paperback)
Forget Twillight, yes I love it too, but let me introduce you to is Zoey Redbird.
In 'our time' this story takes place, where vamps are out, and have an academy of their own, for their 'young ones', called fledgelings. You become a fledgeling by being marked, on your forehead with a cresent moon. When you are, you'll more or less have to leave everything behind you and move into the House of night, where you'll learn what there is to know, about live as an adult vamp.
All of this Happens to Zoey, decented from Cherokees, and therefore not that unfamiliar with dealing with magic.
Cos magical her new life turns out to be, she fast get an enemy but also 4 very good friends. Basiclly, she ends up just starting to realize, that her life path will be an extraordinary one, as she has been gifted with immense powers, and thereby, an immense responsibility.
This may not sound intresting, but im really trying not to reveal much, I just needed to say, that you have to read it, its a not-putting-down'er, and by that I mean it'll take hold on you for sure.
Some things we may have heard before, school..learning magic, vamps, love (-and a lot of eroticism, cos really, vampire stories without it, is like, not vampire stories!), but earnest, this story stands on its own.
As a pagan, I really like the fact, that there is so much stuff I recognize, goddess, casting circles and a message aswell, that may or may not have been put there deliberately!-you'll go check if you get it!
atm, ive just read chapter 1 of the 5th book Hunted, so I can say for sure, that it just continues onward being wonderful, not to mention, sexy, warm and quite funny! It almost, but just almost, makes me like cats alot more than dogs.. but just almost! :-)
