Wow! what a shock compared to GoPro world and prices!, 30meters underwater out the box! not dissing the lovely GoPro's oh no! but you'd have to buy the add on preview screen as well to your 200pounds GoPro, and for around 55 to 60pounds this is brilliant!, Made from rounded sturdy plastic this camera's box is bursting at the seems with high quality accessories! all quite rugged plastic, Yes it has Steady Shot! and it's as good as my ZOOM Q3 and KODAK PlaySport steadyshot (both of which I recommend) the preview screen is tiny 1.5" BUT is surprisingly crisp bright and clear, you get used to it in no time, 1080p! Testing 32GB Class10 MicroSD Sandisc 17pounds Amazon.co.uk, Webcam feature is nice, Nice Wide Angle on Video mode, really smooth steady shot, 12MP 8MP 5MP Still shot, Home Surveillance! Hide the cam out of sight and use the Motion Sensor to Capture Thieves, Nature Watching, Foxes, Birds, Squirrels, not sure on how long the capture clips are for, theres a 3min Loop record feature adjustable, ISO 100-400 (AUTO), and Exposure settings, oh I forgot its got a Motion Sensor and a range of Car Mounts! Window and Roof Mounted (inside just above your head) Lots of tough sticky Mounts, cable ties, For Cyclists there are 2 Cycle Mount options and 2 Helmet options, Just when you thought the UK Instructions were sparse there was behold another fold out full color how to use the accessories poster! Now I get it! well done! Even supplied a 12v to MicroUSB charger and a 3-PIN UK to USB Charger plug! Nice sleek white with all leads except the Mini HDMI out lead which I have 2 of already, luckily another standard! Gravity sensor has 3 shock modes LOW MED HIGH sensitivity settings. Time and Date Stamp. Voice Activated Record? although not 100% on this yet will update, sure tis is stated somewhere, Firmware is viewable, Format, took a little while to suss out the menu system without using the book and its OK for a little chunky device, they describe it in the book as being very slim! more like 300mm or so, but it's perfect clutch in hand size, more like a Video Grenade! No lanyard hole :/ BUT does have belt clip holder supplied which you could attach a lanyard cord to, there's all manner of straps, even a wall attachment, the operating chart at the end of the instructions is somewhat confusing in that it doesn't simply say what button Records and takes Stills/ Videos (say in red? would have been easy) there's an [OK] button and a [M] button, until I get the SDcard mounted I cannot test, tomorrow I will update! The pictures advertized make the SJ1000 look like those much cheaper smaller chunky designed cams but these are much bigger, the picture here is not doing the size any justice, will try and upload some. I hope Firmware Coders like XDA-Developers etc get looking into this Firmware!, see if there are ways to modify and or upgrade it. Known as the SJ1000, and so far it's working very well. Will update ASAP. And it's able to swap out batteries! whats not to like?
Opinions my own, I have not tested underwater yet, or playback quality of video or stills via HDMI screen YET! Nor have I confirmed Voice Activated Record feature. And please I am not a Go Pro hater I'm just saying if you added up all these supplied accessories you'd have to spend 330pounds plus for the equivalent GoPro setup not including the backpack screen. Still unlike the GoPro there is no website support as yet for the SJ1000 only AMAZON luckily, no visible serial number, RoHS, FCC, CE Approved. Despite a few tiny operating niggles for me to get use to this is well worth 5stars, based on Features Price and Accessories alone. The stock Firmware is working very well so far, no service/Firmware update modes found so far via secret power on button press sequences, will update.

I have bought this camera, but it's working only when is plugged in, doesn't work with the battery. Did you have this issue?
Also, when records by motion detect, can the clips be over 10seconds or this can't be changed?
What about the g-sensor, does it block some files if it sense impact and not over-write them? How can I see which ones?

My 12 year old want to buy this to use on his ski helmet. The images don't show what mounts are included. Before he buys it, can you let us know if it comes with a suitable mount to attach to a solid helmet? many thanks Ali

Yep, I'm in the same boat Yvonne. The first thing in the instructions was to format the micro sd card, but having googled and tried to follow, I failed.... dismally.
`They say to right click on `my computer` but I haven't even got that on my vista O/S. Under just `computer` it just shows how much memory I've got left, even though I connected the card via usb card reader.
The guys here are clearly on a different level as far as their knowledge is concerned.
I think I'll give a call to my 10 yr old granddaughter .... :(
