This review is from: Wim Wenders: Places, Strange and Quiet (Hardcover)
When I actually owned this book it held far less for me than when I first saw it. Wenders shoots the ordinary/ugly as if to say: " there's beauty and meaning in the everyday". At the risk of being shallow, I have to say: "not for me". Only the Ferris wheel has any visual or emotional value, for me. Having said that I recall seeing a more recent book of his that did have some compelling images. Of course, none of this is to detract from his true genius as a film maker.
