A delightful and timeless classic,
This review is from: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Kindle Edition)
Alice in Wonderland is one of those stories that seems to transcend the original book itself. We all know the characters in one way or another. Whether that be from live-action films, TV shows or the classic Disney adaptation, (and I must be honest in saying that I'd never read the story until only last week) but we all know of the Mad Hatter or the Queen of Hearts. The original book by Lewis Carroll portrays the wonderful innocence of a child's imagination, beautifully. Although obviously a children's book, I must admit that some of the conversations between Alice and some of the creatures did give me a chuckle. Not because they have a hidden innuendo which is placed to make the adults laugh and go over the kids heads, but the innocence off it is quite endearing and has aged really well. It's a book that should be on every primary school reading list as it's one that can really attach itself to the imagination of a young reader.
A wonderful book, and my only reasoning behind giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the lack of illustrations in this kindle version.
