Excellent and handy resource for neurology,
This review is from: Pocket Tutor Neurological Examination (Pocket Tutor Series) (Paperback)
Excellent little pocket book for learning about neurology and the neurological examination. It is written in a friendly narrative which makes it easy to read all the way through and to refer to at a glance. Not only does it outline all aspects of the neurological examination, but it also gives loads of extra information and "clinical insight" into a variety of neurological conditions (including the rare eponymous syndromes which make neurology interesting!). It assumes a basic knowledge of neuro-anatomy so is appropriate for senior medical students and doctors, including specialist trainees. It would also be excellent for anyone starting a neurology job or student placement as it gives practical advice regarding presenting and referring patients on the wards. I also really liked the "Equipment" list for each part of the examination which includes handy tips for busy doctors including using your smartphone for Ishihara plates!
I am using it to study for my PACES and will be relying on this as my main text for neurology examination.
