A great and moving surprise...,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Primate's Memoir: Love, Death and Baboons in East Aftica (Hardcover)
I picked up the book on a friend's recommendation. Somehow, I wasn't expecting much... But the surprise was enormous as I discovered the intriguing life of Sapolsky. One learns a great deal from this present book: about baboons and how scarily close they are to humans; about the Kenya of the end of the 70's; about Uganda and the Amin "government" and also about this very human young man... Sapolsky as a student in anthropology...
It is a fascinating story of a man who becomes a member of the baboon family... The style of writing is pleasant and his descriptions of his "brothers" and "sisters" are heart-warming.
I strongly recommend this book to any reader for it can be read both lightly and, if one is interested, with more analysis. Thank you Dr. Sapolsky!
