Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 500 Amazon Coins
I was about to purchase minecraft app for my 10 year old son using my credit card when I was offered the chance by my Kindle to purchase it at a small discount using Amazon coins. Thinking that this was a good offer I therefore purchased the coins on my credit card without incident. However, now Amazon won't let me use the coins to purchase the app !

I have been advised by Amazon support to purchase the app with my credit card but not offered any refund on the coins that I had already purchased. If I do what they say I'll end up having paid for coins that I have no use for. It appears that the support people can't even be bothered to read my complaint carefully. It's a ridiculous situation, I feel I have been tricked into unnecessarily buying these useless coins. Absolutely frustrating and on top of that I have an extremely disappointed son.

Hi
Complain again and again til they sort it out properly. Or sell the coin.

Is it not possible to simply return the item(s) as unused because they are not fit for purpose?

Selling the coins does not seem particularly fair on the prospective purchaser, who might simply return them to you for a refund.

Good luck!

It is not only unfair, it is also illegal. Sick of yank corporations trying to break trade laws by inventing 'virtual money'. The best thing is not to buy into it in the first place.

Why the YANK slur? This is like calling people from England LIMEY. It is an ad hominem attack and completely unnecessary. Your argument is specious as well: virtual money does not and cannot 'break trade laws' as such, and Amazon Coins are not 'virtual money' in the sense you are using the term. It's exactly the same as any other pre-paid account or credit note. Virtual currencies, however, such as Bitcoin (evidently invented by a virtual person, by the way!), are indeed illegal in several national jurisdictions. Please do more research and PLEASE leave out the ethnic slurs if you intend to be taken seriously.

It don't work all the time BUT I have found putting a comment on TWITTER seem to wake loads of firms into a faster reply. Does not guarantee a reply but it is worth a shot if you feel aggrieved as you are.
