You Can Do The Stairs, Without Having To Switch Plug Sockets Half Way,
This review is from: Hoover Dust Manager Evo GreenRay DME7133 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Airvolution No Loss of Suction - 1300 Watt (Kitchen & Home)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Hoover appliance may well have been inspired by Toy Story; it would be Buzz Lightyear's vacuum cleaner, for sure! It has the same futuristic curves and matching colours.
It is extremely flexible; you can guide the appliance under beds and other awkward areas by using the 'flatback' setting.
The clever design makes it a doddle to do the stairs. The hose has a reach of 4.5metres. Add to that, the length of the 8metre power cord. HALLELUJAH, I didn't have to switch plug sockets half-way through! You can prevent the appliance from toppling over by attaching the anti-tip clip, near the base of the unit. (This effectively shifts the centre-of-gravity of the unit)
The appliance is surprisingly lightweight and compact, making it really easy to store and maneuver.
== WHAT I DISLIKE ==
- You have to clean the filter every 3 months. (It's too easy to forget to do this). You have to take the transparent cylinder 'bin' out, remove the blue filter, then 'wash it thoroughly under hand warm water'. (edit: it's not just one filter, it's TWO separate filters)
- To activate the 5-year guarantee, you have to fill out a form BY POST, within 28 days of purchase. (28 days is way too short for a time frame - three months would be more reasonable). (Also, if you do it online, you can only be registered for 12 months, you have to do it **by post** to be registered for 5-years. So, the facility clearly exists for online registrations! Are Hoover doing this to discourage people from getting their 5-year guarantee?! It's this sort of sly corporate behaviour that fosters mistrust and bad will, IMHO. I hope Hoover PR see this comment and are suitably ashamed!)
- A minor complaint is that it's extremely loud. It performs very well, in terms of cleaning; it sort of makes up for it.
- Maybe I'm just used to a different type of vacuum (i.e. not an upright) so, to me, it feels a tad clunky to maneuver; keep fearing I'll smash it into the wall. (Durability is obviously important, so if I find it's not as robust as it seems, I'll endeavor to update this review)
