SO GOOD, SO GABRIEL,
By A Customer
This review is from: So (Audio CD)
Peter's improvement continues working. Different from other albums, "So" means a new concept style in Peter's solo career, more modern. Great musicians still support "The voice"... Tony Levin, David Rhodes, Manu Katche, and Police's drummer Stewart Copeland. I would like to sing as Peter Gabriel, but I could have conform myself working with him doesn't matter who I was, guitarrist, bassist or drummer. In this album we can find some of the most representative songs that Peter has ever done - I think is probably the album which have more of the important songs that Peter did -. I mean "In your eyes", "Don't give up" - both are romantic and brilliant-. But I think that "Red rain" and "Mercy street" are more representative, different, even better than the others, because they will never die. Both are magic. "Red rain" is a little bit more powerful; "Mercy street" is full of magic. The opening part of the song is incredible ( I should not define it cause words will not represent what I feel listening to it)while Keyboards sounds and Tony Levin's bass take us into the magic feeling; Peter does the rest...I actually think that both songs ("Red rain", "Mercy street") are two of the 10 best songs ever did by the singer, which also means that are two of the best songs I ever heard. It's easy to understand: Peter is my favourite singer, but also actor, while he has been interpretating music and life at the same time.
