Okay if you want more of Arkham City,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Batman: Arkham Origins (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM)
Arkham Origins is pretty much Arkham City with some minor modifications. If you liked Arkham City and are hungry for more of the same, the chances are you'll like Arkham Origins, but if you're looking for something new you are likely to be disappointed. There are some enhancements to Batman's "detective mode" but I'd struggle to pick out much else that's different to the Batman in Arkham City.
The game consists of the usual combinations of main mission, various side missions, puzzles to solve, occasional fights against "big" enemies and lots of swinging around the city. There's plenty to do although I tend to agree with some other reviewers that it does lack a bit of "life" - a certain 'je ne sais quoi' that's hard to put your finger on.
I am nevertheless enjoying the game and it's nice to see a long single-player version of a game after the disappointingly short offerings of things like Call of Duty Ghosts. I can't comment on the multi-player version as I never play that.
I started playing this on Christmas Eve and maybe by then a lot of the bugs others have mentioned had been fixed as I've only found one bug so far (a "stuck" enemy that I couldn't hit, which meant restarting from the last save and trying again). There is of course the usual Steam nonsense to negotiate but that's par for the course these days.
I think it's a bit expensive at full price as I struggle to see this as more than an expansion pack to Arkham City but, as I said, I am still enjoying the game and it'll probably be closer to "good value" in a few months when the price drops.
