This review is from: Extremes: How Far Can You Go to Save a Life? (Paperback)
Fong makes a good attempt at writing an accessible account of human physiology at the extremes of survival. The style is more Daily Mail than New Scientist and this is not the place to look for anything challenging, however there are some interesting vignettes bolstered by the author's personal experiences. Fong can't resist spicing up the narrative with occasional contrived jeopardy, but it is an enjoyable, if undemanding, read.
