This review is from: Dyson DC16 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen & Home)
I have an original Dyson upright cleaner and well impressed by Dyson technology so I splashed out and bought this Dyson baby.
The down side is that the battery charge only lasts for just six minutes.
Given that fact, they are six powerful minutes and user has to remember to switch on and off when moving the cleaneer from one area to another to save battery. The good news is that the battery charges remarkably quickly.

Dear James Dyson, how about creating a Dyson DC16 which could be plugged into the mains?

I pondered on whether to keep baby Dyson or return it after realising net reports on battery use time were correct, but it does the job and gets to places other cleaners cannot reach. However, the DC16 lives in a plastic bag and rarely makes public appearances on the grounds I forget I own one!

The Dyson DC16 does have a motor. How else would it produce the suction? A mains powered DC16 would be great and probably lighter than the re-chargeable cleaner because there would be no battery which adds to the weight. I've just bought a Dyson DC24 which included a voucher for a free DC16 tool kit, so I may splash out on one.

This product is not fit for purpose. The impossibly short battery life deteriorates over time to render it worse than useless. Replacement batteries are expensive and equally challenged. Compared to alternative manufacturer products, they are invariably less powerful, but they are much cheaper and have acceptable battery life. This product needs an urgent review by Mr Dyson as it is impacting on brand quality perceptions.

it sounds like it should have a spare battery at least so you could rotate when it dies, anyway at that price 6 minutes is disgraceful how pointless!
