Bought 3 pairs, 1 of them was broken, 1 of them was FAKE,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: SONY PRO MDR7506 Headphones Pro closed (Electronics)
I have owned 3 sets of these earphones so far (all purchased from amazon.co.uk), the first set i bought I am still using each day for mixing high quality audio and am very pleased with. About 6 months later i purchased a second pair for my brother but this pair had a slight problem with the left side producing too much low-end. Recently i bought a third pair since my first pair were getting slightly worn out from using them every day for 4-5 hours, when i recieved the third pair i unpacked them and instantly noticed that they seemed much flimsier than my previous pairs. I plugged them into my computer and opened up a song that i have listened to many times, instantly i noticed they sounded absolutely awful. I then compared the logos and decals of my old pair with new pair and realised the Sony logo on the side and on the box was indeed fake.
I know this review isn't much to do with the headphones and more to do with the products I recieved. This is more of a warning for people thinking of purchasing them from amazon.
They are amazing headphones, but after all the trouble i have been through I highly recommend buying them elsewhere.

Were the fake ones sold directly by Amazon, or through a marketplace seller? Do you know which one? Thanks

I got mine from NeuroMart UK, fulfilled by Amazon, £78.99, and they are certainly genuine. So there is 1 data point.

I have had fake products from Amazon. Not fulfilled by, but actually from Amazon. They have always taken them back.
Remember, if you use a credit card you can do a payment reversal without waiting for the merchant. Give them about three working days to collect the goods and perform a refund, otherwise then ask the credit card for a payment reversal and call the police.

I got a pair from Gates deals. The left earpiece was fretting/buzzing at the low frequencies so I just registered a return.

Me too ! Also from Neuromart. Can't swear they are genuine, of course, but mine seem very well made and certainly work very well indeed - beautiful sound, very comfortable.
Good coiled cable length and - joy! - a convertible 3.5/6 mm jack, gold (coloured, anyway!) plated.
