I'll keep this simple. Without this tool used in conjunction with a power breaker (Titan 1.7kW) there is no way I could have completed a replacement fence run. With very dry, hard ground comprised of compacted clay, flint and stones conventional post hole spade digging had no chance below 8 inches. With these tools a precise 8 inch diameter x 28 inch deep hole still takes a good hour and a lot of sweat, but is achieved. Technique is to start the hole and get down around 6 - 8 inches depth using conventional digging spades, then thrust the digging bar around the periphery of the hole levering against the side of the hole to ease out the clay within. Use the power breaker to get through large solids. Remove 2 _ 3 inch depth at a time with the bar removing freed material by hand as you go. The digging bar is a no brainer for this work. Brilliant.
