Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core (3.5/4.1GHz, 8MB Level 3 Cache, 6MB Level 2 Cache, Socket AM3+, 95W, Retail Boxed) (Personal Computers)
Doesn't work.... I put this in my M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and there is just a constant red light displayed on the CPU_LED which after a good 30min phone call to ASUS, found out that it was likely to be a broken CPU, which makes sense considering the Box containing the CPU and heatsink where battered. If this CPU actually worked I do not doubt that it would uphold to its expectations, however that was not the case. I am disappointed.

Orpheus says:
It is a Bios problem. I had the same problem I ended off purchasing a sempron 145, the most lowly CPU possible then once Fitted downloaded the newer Bios. The Bios loaded on the motherboard is indicated on a little sticker on the side of the motherboard, Check on the web to see if it will run your CPU. My purchase was a packaged CPU, Motherboard and memory
Once the Bios is loaded just swap the CPU's. . the AMD web site is very informative. It is discreceful that the company do not realise the problem. Note....Loading the Bios from the disc was bad....It was older than the one already on the motherboard. Hope this helps. Graham

I agree with Orpheus completely, I too got a package where I brought the motherboard, CPU and ram together, and it was a whole load easier for me. The CPU I brought, or APU in my case was a A8-5600k and I heard that a few people had to do what Orpheus mentioned and had to buy a older FM2 chip to download the Bios. I can imagine that not only being expensive but also very annoying. Companies should make it so that you can load the newer Bios from a memory stick or something...That might be already do-able on other motherboards I'm not sure but if it isn't I can imagine it being useful! :)
